Fred Royter’s body of work is rooted in the conjunction of figurative illustration, abstract and non-representational concepts, merging raw and subtle expression, building up layer, texture, depth and form using charcoal, graphite, aquarelle, ink, acrylic, oil and cold wax.
His artwork tends to expand beyond the original format. Through the process of marouflage and stitching onto a larger surface the initial piece is growing and obtains a new composition and aesthetic.
The artist's purpose is to create, convey and stimulate. To look at a drawing or painting in a different way, rework it and letting the creative output evolve in an alternate direction, expanding the format and not knowing until the end what it will be is what gives a piece its individuality.
